Walker Baptist Medical Gets an A for Patient Safety in Fall 2018

Dec 17, 2018
By achieving an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, Walker Baptist Medical Center receives recognition as one of the safest hospitals in the United States. The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, assigns “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” and “F” letter grades to hospitals nationwide and provides the most complete picture of patient safety in the U.S.

“With our high standard of safety and commitment to quality care, we are extremely proud to achieve this distinguished award,” Walker Baptist Medical Center CEO, Bob Phillips. “This designation is a testament to our dedicated, highly skilled staff and physicians that provide our patients with the highest level of safety and care every day when they enter the doors of our hospital.”

To see Walker Baptist Medical Center’s scores as they compare nationally and locally, visit the Hospital Safety Score website at www.hospitalsafetyscore.org, which also provides information on how the public can protect themselves and loved ones during a hospital stay.

Developed under the guidance of a National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign the grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
